Salt and pepper pot blue
This blue salt and pepper pot (saliere) was hand-made in Marrakech. It is made from terracotta.
The salt and pepper pot in blue is the perfect stylish receptacles for salt and pepper or other condiments on your table. It is shaped like a couple of tagines. Take the top off, et voila, there is your salt and pepper! Use your fingers to take your salt and pepper and sprinkle over your food.
In Morocco they call these salt and pepper pots – salieres – the French for a small container designed to hold salt and facilitate sprinkling. In Morocco, you often find one pot filled with salt and the other with cumin. They are also a useful size for holding chilli or wasabi, so your dinner guests can add their own level of heat.
This salt and pepper pot in blue measures 15 cm across and is 9cm tall. As the salt and pepper pots are handmade, there may be some variation in colour and dimensions.
A salt and pepper pot will complete your table, perfect if you are having a Moroccan dinner party. You can match it with a small tagine for other condiments.
It is recommended that the salt and pepper pots are hand-washed in warm soapy water.
