Lamp Base Black
This black lamp base is made from fired clay with mechour (silver metal) trimmings. It has a tadelakt finish.
Tadelakt is a traditional craft in Morocco and is a form of polished plaster normally applied to walls in traditional Moroccan palaces. The word ‘tadelakt’ means to ‘rub in’. For more information on tadelakt, check out this information on Wikipedia. And to see more tadelakt, have a look at this video.
Tadelakt has a beautiful soft feel with a lovely sheen. This lamp will add style and elegance to any home.
The lamp base was handmade in Marrakech.
The price is for the lamp base only, and does not include wiring or the lamp shade. Any electrician can easily and quickly wire the base to meet Australian standards and a number of homewares stores sell reasonably priced lamp shades. The shade in the photo was purchased at Ikea in Melbourne.
The black lamp base stands 46cm tall.
