This decorative dagger was handmade in the south of Morocco. The Berbers of Azlag have been producing these handcarfted daggers for over 700 years. The craft is vital to the local economy, providing a livelihood for over 70 artisans and their families.
The scabbard is made from an embossed silver metal and has 2 rings on each side so that a woollen baldric can be attached and the dagger can be worn slung across the torso. The handle is made from a dark stained hardwood with applied silver metal ornamentation. The double-edged blade is made of steel.
The entire dagger measures 44cm, the blade is 18.5cm. Each dagger is unique.
