This beautiful decorative dagger was handmade in the south of Morocco. The Berbers of Azlag have been producing these handcrafted daggers for over 700 years. The craft is vital to the local economy, providing a livelihood for over 70 artisans and their families.
The scabbard is made from embossed silver. It has 2 rings on each side so that a woollen baldric can be attached and the dagger can be worn slung across the torso. The handle is made from a camel bone with applied silver ornamentation. The double-edged blade is made of steel and has a touareg design embossed close to the handle.
The entire dagger measures 26cm, the blade 13cm.
