This beautiful handmade and painted 10cm Safi bowl features a colourful, yet classic design.
Safi, on the Atlantic coast of Morocco, is renowned worldwide for its colourful pottery. Each piece of pottery is handcrafted on the pottery wheel, left in the sun to dry, dipped in a white wash, then hand-painted by skilled artisans and lastly fired in the kiln. Incidentally, Safi is also famous for sardines and surfing.
While we have multiples of these bowls in this and other sizes, there may be small variations as all the ceramics are hand made.
Metroscope has worked directly with the pottery supplier in Safi for a number of years now and he is aware of our need for quality wares.
The bowl is food-safe and should be hand-washed in warm soapy water. Please don’t put in the dish washer if you would like it to last.
Use the bowl for salt and pepper, spices, soy sauce, or for trinkets. Foods with lots of turmeric may stain the bowl. The bowl is 10cm in diameter and 4cm high.
