The Moucharabieh trivet is from the stunning Images d’Orient collection. This collection was designed by Peggy Raphael Dabar in Lebanon.
The design of this trivet was inspired by the moucharabieh screens of the middle east. The moucharabieh is a screen generally built out of small turned wood pieces, assembled according to a complex geometrical scheme. It allowed the viewer to observe without being seen, thus its nickname ‘jealousy windows’. This meticulous technique was and is still used on windows, balconies, ceilings and vaults as well as on furniture in the Mediterranean and Morocco.
Trivets are made from silicone and can take temperatures of 250 degrees centigrade.
Trivets measure 18 x 18cm and are washable and heat resistant.
Care instructions: Wipe with a damp cloth or wash in warm soapy water.
The trivet comes attractively gift-packed.
Team the Moucharabieh trivet with coasters and bottle coasters, round and rectangular placemats, luggage tags, soap holders and key rings in the same design or other items for the Images d’Orient collection. We also have some beautiful tins with porcelain in this design.
