Moucharabieh Parme tin with 2 mugs
The Moucharabieh Parme Tin with 2 Mugs is part of the fabulous Images d’Orient collection. This collection was designed in Beirut, Lebanon by Peggy Raphael Dabar. The colours and designs draw their inspiration from the Mediterranean, north Africa and the Middle East. They combine the charm of their heritage with a contemporary look.
The moucharabieh is a screen usually built from small carved or turned wooden pieces assembled according to a complex geometrical scheme. The screen allowed viewers to observe what was going on without being seen, thus its nickname, ‘jealousy window’. This meticulous technique was and still is used on windows, balconies, ceilings and vaults as well as on furniture.
The tin measures 24 x 14 x 11.5cms and holds 2 (220ml) porcelain mugs. The mugs are dishwasher safe.
Also in the Moucharabieh Parme design are coasters, and trivets and tins with bowls and coffee cups.
The Moucharabieh Parme Tin with 2 Mugs makes a fabulous present and they are so easy to pop into the post.
