This bowl in the moucharabieh design is part of the stunning Images d’Orient collection. The collection was designed by Peggy Raphael Dabar in Beirut, Lebanon. The colours and designs draw their inspiration from the Mediterranean, North Africa and the Middle East. They combine the charm of their heritage with a contemporary look.
The design is inspired by the moucharabieh screens. These screens are usually built of turned wood pieces, assembled according to a complex geometrical pattern. It allowed the viewer to observe without being seen, thus its nickname ‘jealousy window’. This meticuous technique was and is still used on windows, balconies and ceilings, as well as furniture.
The bowl is dishwasher safe and measures 12cm in diameter and is approximately 6.5cm deep.
Team the bowl with a laminated wood tray, mugs and tins in the same design or other items such as coasters and placemats in the Moucharabieh design.
