Our latest container arrived recently from Morocco. It’s always a delight to see what we purchased and ordered so many months ago. And everything looks even better than we remember! We’re still unpacking, photographing and putting things on the website so please keep checking in to see our new stock.
Lots of colour!
We searched the souqs to find the wonderful ‘tbikas’ some of which are pictured here. We are also delighted with the beautifully hand-painted and enameled metal teapots we commissioned. Each one unique.
We’ve had lots of requests over the last year to bring in more ‘babouches’ (Moroccan slippers or shoes). Sorry guys, but we only brought a stack for women. A few samples can be seen here. We’re sorry to say we don’t have these on the website yet, but hope to soon.
We also have some hand-painted wood framed mirrors, beautiful tadelakt bowls with lids, sub-Saharan terracotta beaded heads and some stunning hand-painted ceramic hand basins made in Fes. Perhaps not so colourful, but beautiful and very stylish nevertheless, are our small wrought iron coffee tables.
We’re delighted with our new lantern range – shukran Abdoul! Good quality and classical designs.
We have lots of new mosaic tables, fabulous ceramics from Safi and Fes to suit all budgets, vintage aluminum trays, ottomans, serving and cooking tagines, decorative daggers, brass doorknockers, kilim cushions and tea glasses. We also have a limited supply of large ceramic wall tiles (40 x 25cm).
Metroscope is now stocking the sensational culinary argan oil imported to Australia by Mira’s Table. Come and have a taste.

Moroccan travel hints
If you like drinking a cafe latte in Australia, order a nouss-nouss when in Morocco. A nouss-nouss means half-half so you get a shot of strong coffee and an equal shot of hot milk.
Wise visitors to Morocco will know and use the word ‘shukran’ (thank you). However visitors do not understand the common reply for Moroccans which is ‘la shukran, alla wajhib’ (no thanks required, it’s my duty.)
