We arrived back from a warm sunny Morocco a couple of weeks ago and it’s been all go since then.
Morocco was wonderful as usual and it was good to see our friends and suppliers. We had a very busy few weeks of sourcing new products, travelling to our suppliers in different parts of Morocco, negotiating and buying lots of stock. Those of you who follow us on Facebook have seen some of our posts and photos.
We bought lots more ceramic bowls, plates, and tagines, lanterns, zellige (mosaic) tables, ottomans, teapots, wooden stools and hand-painted tables, beautiful old trays (siniya) and lots more.
And we’ve just been informed that our container is packed and ready to go. Thanks to our wonderful helpers in Morocco. We hope to have it by the end of August/early September. Insh’allah!
Last week Metroscope received new Images d”orient stock.
We’ve replenished our supplies on items that were low or out of stock, incluidn the fabulous four level tins. We now have these in the original blue Moucharabieh design and also in black, white, gold and red. They come by themseves or with four little cups inside. If you can resist keeping them for yoursef, they’ll make a fabulous preset. We also have both designs in rectangular tins, either the tin by itself or with two mugs or two bowls.
There are also tow beautiful new designs – hammam and Sejjadeh Rosace. These come in coasters, bottle coasters, trivets, rectangular and round placemats and the Hammam design also comes in a change tray. Change trays are a fairly new concept here in Australia. The mat is indented in the middle and is perfect for holding loose change when you’ve emptied out your pockets, or jewellery when you take it off, or for your keys. Keep on eby your bedside table and one on the table near the front door.
If you’ve ever been to a Turkish bath or hammam, you will udnerstand why one of the new designs is called Hammam. Old Turkish baths were usually topped by a dome with small holes, allowing the light to stream in.
If you like lots of colour, then there are plenty of designs in blues, reds, oranges, pinks and greens.
We’ll keep you posted about our latest container from Morocco. Please don’t hesitate to give us a call if you would like further informatio on Metroscope, follow us on our Facebook page.
